We’ve only owned this house for five months. And lived here for three. Really, it’s not that crazy that I’d only think to tell people now… right? Let’s pretend you agree wholeheartedly, because today I’m sharing the postcards I made to send out saying that it’s official. We live here.
But really, just because I’ve had them printed doesn’t mean I’ve sent them out. I’ve been playing around with handlettering (I’m seriously jealous of anyone with naturally beautiful handwriting) so I’ve only been doing about two or so when I get a minute. That said, I did have fun creating these ‘fake address’ ones to take pictures of. My sister really does live too far away.
Are you moving or know someone that could use these? You can download them for free by clicking the links below. They’re PDF and sized to print on a standard sheet of paper. I printed mine on 100lb cardstock to make them more post card like. The PDF files are lined up to be printed double sided. My print shop (gotta love Staples) cut them for me- but you can save that cost and do it yourself.
Speaking of saving cost- printing invites or postcards yourself is a huge money saver! Say you have 30 family members you want to send to… or more likely 50 or 60. It adds up if you’re getting pretty stationary! Plus add on the stamp… if the design is free and all you have to pay for is the printing and stamp? Well that’s some cash back in the bank. And I’m pretty sure we can all get on board with that.
When you move do you send out your new address? I love getting these cards in the mail because it’s a pain to have to call someone to make sure you have the right address… especially if you want to send a surprise.
Ok. So I really love these! I moved a year ago and hand made my “We’ve moved” cards. They were super cute, but wow. That was a lot to take on while trying to move and all. These are perfect! Thanks for sharing!
I can’t imagine hand making a billion of these! You are one brave lady :)
Ahhh I love these!!! My fiance and I are planning to move, and this time around I wanted to do something fun rather than just send an email or FB post. The colors are gorgeous, and really catches your eye….and you have amazing handwriting by the way :). I just found your blog/post on the Frugal Crafty Home Blog Hop, and wanted to say hey!!
Thanks so much Ally! I really appreciate the compliment :)
I’d love if you used these for your move!
“We’ve moved” cards are so handy! I wish I had used them when we moved, especially when we moved twice in just over a year. But generally, no one sends us mail unless they’re family and it’s Christmas/a birthday. Then they usually just ask via Facebook or email what our new address is.
So handy! I’m that annoying person that facebooks you before Christmas/birthday!!
Great, now I’m googling hand lettering as if I need another thing to teach myself. Just sayin that I think I have enough hobbies for now…but these are so adorable! You design such cute little printables and such. Maybe an Etsy store in your future????? :)
Haha! I know- there’s a never ending list of things I’d love to teach myself… I’m reading up on your tutorials because I’m planning to paint a coffee table soon :)
Yay! I’m sure I’ll see it here, but if not, be sure to share it with me!! :)
These are so cute! I love the colors and style! I too am jealous of anyone with super neat handwriting! My best friend did calligraphy for my wedding invitations years ago and they were absolutely beautiful! Sadly, I don’t even think I’m teachable, LOL! Thanks so much for linking up to Your Designs This Time! Have a great week!
Haha! I’m sure you’re teachable… but really, if you have a best friend who will do calligraphy for you- you don’t need to be ;)
Great idea Colleen. Love the geometric style graphics.
Thanks so much Michelle! And thanks for sharing them :)
These are so cute!!
I love this! It would make things much smoother during the move.
I thought so! If I would have had these five months ago we would have sent them when we moved in ;)
These are so cute. I am 15 days from moving across the country. Since we are moving in with my parents before we buy a house I will need to send two moving cards! I don’t want to miss any great Christmas cards. This will be a great money saver and they are such great colors.
Good luck on your move Anne! What an exciting adventure- I know I’m thinking Christmas cards too… I love getting to hear from everyone (even if it’s once a year)
We have moved so many times and these would have been super useful. And they are super cute, nice job. Thanks for sharing at On Display Thursday!

I hope next time they come in handy for you!
Colleen, what an adorable idea. I wish I’d come across some printable ones when we moved because it would have saved a nice bit of money. :)
The colors are a great choice and have inspired a card I’m making for a friend recovering from surgery. Thanks for that (and for sharing again at Thank Goodness It’s Thursday)!
Aw, thanks for the lovely feedback Sarah! You’re the sweetest :)
These are so adorable! Also wonderfully thoughtful, it was such a delight to receive one in the mail AND I will agree with you – that sister of yours lives much to far away.
Look who showed up to the party! You should definitely move closer ;)
So cute! I was hoping to be able to type our address on the front. Is there a way to do that without Adobe Acrobat? Thanks!
I would use photoshop BUT I’m sure that there’s online programs that would let you do that as well? Or photoshop has a free 30 day trial ;)
What is the font on these? I love it!
Oh my goodness- I don’t remember! I made them using Canva- so it’s one of the ones they have in their platform :)
I love this and I am helping hosts a housewarming party for my son who just Finally got into his own apartment after moving back home for 2 years! I’d like to use this for the invites/ address change announcements except for the fact that he’s single. Saying “We’ve Moved” might make people think he has imaginary friends or something! HAHA! Is that portion of the card customizable?
No, it’s a printable, so it’s not customizable! Sorry!
