If you caught my entry reveal last week, you probably spotted this little guy and today is his day in the sun. I’m sharing the how-to so you can make your very own spring hoop wreath. I have a thing for hoop wreaths, it’s true. I’ve now made one for autumn, the winter AND now… SPRING! I also want to point out that I took a photo of a wreath on my front door. For the first time EVER. I’m so excited to have a new door, you guys.
And can I just say something? I worked so hard straightening the rug and scrubbing dirt off the entry floor I didn’t even realize (even doing these close ups!) that one of the flowers had fallen into the middle of the wreath. Haha! I noticed when I was editing photos and ran up to fix it. #facepalm Oh well, I still love it and am NOT taking new photos. I’m putting my foot down. To myself.
Alright… so this wreath DIY is another video! I participated in my friend Christina’s (from The DIY Mommy) Spring Home Decor and DIY Youtube Challenge to create this simple spring hoop wreath for you all. If you’re not already following along with me on Youtube, I would so love if you subscribed! I’m putting more of a focus on Youtube this year than I have in the past. Ready for the video?
So if you are crafty, you can probably guess how this one was made. Yep, we brought out the hot glue gun! Can I talk about glue guns for a minute? I have actually always used a cool temp hot glue gun. I didn’t really realize how different they were. I mean, they both melt glue and you stick stuff to it. BUT this wreath changed things for me! My mom got me a high heat hot glue gun for Christmas so I broke it out and love that it pumps out so much more glue at once but you really do need to watch out for burning yourself! You can see me burn myself a couple times in this video- I’m just used to being able to push things into the hot glue! It also takes a while longer for the glue to set than a cool heat one. So you have a little bit more work time which is nice.
Okay, #endrant about glue guns. These fake flowers are so lovely, aren’t they? I wish I could tell you that they’re still available but I actually re-used these guys from a flower crown I made at SNAP a couple years ago! I decided I really would never wear a flower crown again as pretty as it was. I’m pretty sure that activity was sponsored by Jo-Anns so I would check there if you’re looking for the same flowers!
Do you decorate for spring? I don’t do much BUT I’m sharing my first ever spring home tour on Monday- I hope you’ll come check it out!
