Alright you guys, today I’m sharing this super simple DIY coat rack over at Remodelaholic. Let me start by saying… I don’t think many people have coat racks any more. Or am I wrong… do you have one? But we had this corner at the bottom of our stairs that was just asking for one.
We don’t have a coat closet (one of the downsides to a split level entry) so the bottom of the stairs we have kind of turned into a makeshift mudroom and this coat rack helps hold some of the jackets and clutter. I added a second row of hooks around the bottom for kids jackets as well.
I painted it to match the brush stroke accent wall (Para Paints, Place your bets) and love how it’s a nice pop of colour in the otherwise dark corner. And did I mention that this baby cost me around $10? Score!
Grab the whole how to and details over at Remodelaholic… then let me know if I’m so totally last year by even building a coat rack ;)

Do u need to anchor it to the wall? I would be worried it would constantly fall over…also, where did u get ur wall hooks from? They’re so cute & simple.

We haven’t yet BUT once fall hits and we and our kids are using it more regularly, I think I will.
Wall hooks are from CB2!
