Full home tour with our renovation plans and mid-renovation spaces!
Once a year or so, I like to keep it totally real and share a full home tour with you all. This is how we live (although I did have my kids pick up most of their toys for you- ha!) and this is how far along we are on our renovation projects.
Since we do things mostly DIY and still take time to hang out with the kids and not rush through projects, we often have a few things on the go at once and not totally finished. We purchased this home three years ago and each year since, I’ve done a ‘full home tour’ to share our progress… and it’s that time again!
As a reminder, you can see what this house looked like when we bought it RIGHT HERE. And where we were at last year if you’re interested, RIGHT HERE.
I’ve put this in a YouTube video for you that you can watch right here:
As a summary, this past year the big room reveals we’ve shared are our primary bedroom, our playroom, and this mini hallway makeover. The rest of the room reveals (and there were many!) that I took on were in other people’s homes! Which, looking back… I don’t know how we fit all of them in!
We also worked our way through some bigger, slower projects. Our siding is done, our electrical panel was upgraded (a hottub got installed this past week actually and I’m already loving it!), and most of our landscaping is now done. We didn’t do blog posts about these things, but they’ve sure been taking a lot of our time! I also painted all of our exterior doors, we installed some exterior railings and gates, we added a fence to our backyard and slowly picked away at updating our living room, exercise room and patio spaces.
We still have a couple spaces that we have yet to touch. Our laundry room is ready to be framed and insulated (I shared a sneak at the design plans in the video! I need to put together a blog post for that still!). Our ensuite is screaming for a renovation with broken tiles, a leaky shower and the vanity falling apart. Our recroom has seen new trim, painted doors and fresh window coverings but the wishlist includes a built in shelving system around our TV and finally getting our fireplace finished and working.
BUT those things are likely going to be waiting because we have an exciting project we are finalizing plans for that once again… is not in our home ;) I can’t share quite yet, but I promise it will feature so many great projects for your home!
Beyond the big remodels, this year I’m excited to finish the smaller projects I’ve been putting off. Some organization, more DIY art, finally finishing our living room and more outdoor spaces to love.
So that’s where we are at! I hope that this real life look at our home and remodel is encouraging to you if you feel like Instagram 30 second room makeovers have clouded your perspective of how fast everyone else is working!
