Father’s Day always sneaks up on me. It’s Mother’s Day and then you blink and then it’s Dad’s turn. And guess what time it is? Time to get your Father’s Day plans in order! I’ve shared some DIY gift ideas for Father’s day in the past but today I’m excited to be sharing some super sweet personalized Father’s Day gift ideas. And better yet, they’re daddy and me gifts so your littles will be just as obsessed with giving these gifts as you will seeing them twinning. Not self serving at all ;P
I have two different themes for these gift ideas but you could honestly take it any which way. The other ladies from our Modern Handmade Home series are sharing some of their Father’s Day gift ideas that they’ve personalized in partnership with Personalization Mall today as well. This is a little different for us but we’ve worked with Personalization Mall before and totally LOVE their quality and their service so it was a no brainer to spread the love to the Dads in our lives too!
To make this extra fun, I made a video about these gift ideas! I shared why I chose them and you can see them a bit closer in here. If you’re not following me over on YouTube yet, I’d so love if you did that here!
Daddy and Me Travel Bags
Okay, I messed up here. Notice anything about this? I’M THE ONLY ONE WITHOUT A PERSONALIZED BAG NOW! Ha… Such a face palm moment now that I’m packing for our trip next weekend and realizing I have to dig out my old ratty duffle bag yet again. But these bags are SO great!
Shane was gifted a personalized duffle bag for being a groomsman in a wedding years and years ago. We got so much use out of that thing but it finally blew a zipper. This upgrade is the perfect size for a weekend away for him and even to take to the gym. It’s a Nike brand bag which I know he loves and I customized it with orange lettering (for his fave hockey team and country… any guessses?!).
The quilted duffel bags for the boys are actually bigger than I expected and I’m pretty excited about that. That gives them enough room for everything they need when we go away for vacation. They have their school backpacks for day trips so this is a nice larger option when we need it. There’s pockets too and they fold down really nicely when they’re not in use! They had fun choosing which bag would be theirs (I know blue is the fave color around here, so ordered three different blues with different fonts) and telling everyone that comes into the house which is which.
I totally love Aubrey’s polka dot bag too- it’s a more traditional duffel bag fabric that I think will hold up for years and years of use. The polka dots are so fun and she feels really special having one so different from the boys.
This gift idea is best planned with a little getaway… for us, it’s not a Father’s Day gift exactly, but we planned a little vacation to visit Shane’s brother for Father’s Day weekend so these bags seem extra special this year.
Daddy and Me Tool Boxes + Tape Measures
The second gift idea is personalized tools! You can pretty much get any hand tools personalized. Since both Shane and my kids have pretty much all the tools they need already, I picked out this rad Carhartt tool caddy for him. He loves to bring a tool caddy like this around to work on different house projects so he doesn’t have to do too many trips but the one he has been using was too small for some of the things he’s found himself using lately (all those drill bits!). This one is the perfect size- I don’t know if he’s ever been so excited about a blog post as he was when he saw this caddy. It’s seriously so nice! We had it embroidered with a simple, ‘Dad’s Tools’ and I love the impact of this!
To stick with the ‘daddy and me’ gift theme, we got Calder his own little tool caddy. We actually let all three of our other kids use real tools (supervised) when we’re working on projects. They know how to pull out nails with a hammer and screw in screws and all that. But Calder is still too young to understand and wants to hit everything, EVERYTHING with the hammer if we let him touch it. So this little Melissa and Doug tool kit is SUCH A WIN! He played contently the whole time Shane was working on the window trim project. It’s adorable watching him carry around his tool kit behind Shane while they work on projects around the house. I love that we’ve put his name on it because it’s not only adorable but because it without a doubt shows the siblings that it’s his. He’s the fourth so doesn’t have many things that are just his!
Last but not least, we picked up a sweet tape measure for my dad and for Emmitt to match. Pretty much everyone that’s constantly working on house projects could use another tape measure… like one for each room, right?! Ha! The one for my dad says ‘Babu, No One Else Measures Up To You!’… So sweet, right?! I’m not going to lie, my other kids are a bit jealous of this one… I don’t know why since we have tape measures for all of them at our house! But Emmitt especially just loves to work in the garage with my dad when they are over there. So much so that he has his own little work cupboard and drawer to keep his tools in. I thought it was nice for him to have a matching one to is Grandpa to put in there!
Alright! so those are my personalized Father’s Day gift ideas for you! There are SO MANY more things that you can do. I would have totally included a ‘grilling’ gift idea but I got Shane personalized BBQ tools for Christmas, so he already has them in use!
