You guys! I’m so excited to *finally* share an exciting project I’ve been working on… through the summer ;) Today is the launch of Leon’s Hello Holiday magazine and that tree on the front cover? Well, I may have had that in my living room for most of September! I partnered with Leon’s furniture for not one but THREE room makeovers for their holiday magazine. You might have caught my post sharing all the inspiration for the makeovers last month. After living in these rooms for a couple more months I’m SO in love with how they work for our family. And look, because that’s important too ;)
Today I’m sharing some peeks of our new living room that is featured in the Hello Holiday magazine BUT as of today, you can also check out the full magazine online or in person (in Ontario).
One of my very favourite things about this magazine is that everything is totally liveable. These are our REAL homes with our REAL (wild) families and the lifestyle shots just make me all sorts of happy. Alright… let’s talk about this living room, you guys!
Since being married, we’ve pretty much lived off of hand me downs. The best ones around, I’m pretty sure- but none the less… getting to pick our own furniture that would grow with our family is pretty rad! Shane’s BIG request for the space was a sectional and I was set on having chairs separating the open spaces (having the back of a couch there made it seem really closed off before). I’m typically drawn to really clean lines and more modern furniture and my husband is all about comfort. The compromise ended up with some of the most comfortable furniture out there (the first thing guests seem to tell us!) that still looks really great. These pieces will be with our family for such a long time.
The other big change in the space was adding a desk for me! I don’t get downstairs to my computer as often as I need to lately and having a space in our living area that I can open up the laptop for a few minutes (without having the kids clear their art off the table) has made a huge difference in how I work!
Alright, I’ll leave it at that- if you want to check out the whole room, I write all about it over on the Leons Hello Yellow blog and you can check out the whole magazine (it’s all really beautiful, promise!) RIGHT HERE. Oh! AND I’m sharing all my tips for mantel styling over on their blog as well! Check that out here.
