I’ve rounded up some of my favourite modern handmade holiday decor found on Etsy! As I’m shopping for our home, I thought I’d share these beautiful Christmas decorations with you too.
I know that we’re still technically in ‘fall’ but I’m a blogger and that means I’m thinking about the next season always. And right now that’s the holiday season! I like to keep my holiday decor pretty simple with natural textures and colours and I really love handmade details, especially around the holidays and one of the best places to find things like that (but awesome quality) is Etsy.
I’m excited to be partnering with Etsy to put together a few shopping guides over the next couple months and todays is the first! I knew I wanted to do one for holiday decor because I already had my eye on a few of these pieces. Can you guess which ones?! ;)
I pulled together pieces that I thought were crazy beautiful, that I would love to have in my home (if you’re here… I’m hoping you like my style- ha!) and that I’d be proud to gift. And now that I’ve put together this guide oh handmade holiday decor… I’m probably, definitely buying at least one of them.
Alright… let’s chat about them!
Left to right/ Top to Bottom:
ONE: These little macrame snowflakes are so darn cute and I know that I’m 100% not patient enough to make these myself. I love the look of macrame on a christmas tree (like this!), it gives such beautiful texture. I would love to add these babies to my collection of neutral but interesting ornaments. SHOP THEM
TWO: These beautifully simple Swedish stars + wood bead ornaments have that Scandi style that I love and would fit in perfectly on my black white and natural wood tree… this combination is my favourite! I’m also really loving the look of unfinished clay like this lately. SHOP THEM
THREE: Clearly I’m a lover of macrame- I have made quite a few pieces myself but have yet to see a macrame wreath I love as much as this one! It’s perfectly ‘finished’ while still being minimal. I love the texture this would add to any wall year round- add a branch of evergreen before a holiday party and you’re good to go! SHOP THIS
FOUR: Another combination I can’t get enough of! Acrylic and hand lettering! Remember this sign I made for fall? This acrylic ‘all is bright’ ornament is so beautiful and airy- it would complement any style of decorations, I think. At least… it would complement any tree I design. I would make darn sure of it ;) SHOP THEM
FIVE: These ‘Merry Christmas’ wood cut outs have a hand lettered look I love with a super affordable price point. FOUR come in this pack, guys! I know they call them chair hangings, but I’d design wreaths for gifts and hang these in the centre! SHOP THEM
SIX: If I didn’t get new stockings last year (see them here!) I’d for sure be jumping on these black and white stockings. I honestly don’t know if I’ve seen stockings I love more- they’re beautifully minimal but the tassel detail is so pretty. This store has a whole collection of coordinating stockings (like these!) so I would definitely choose different ones for each family member, knowing that they’d work together! SHOP THEM
SEVEN: OK so it’s hard to tell in this photo but this “it’s the most wonderful time of the year” wooden sign has raised letters. Like cut out and glued on letters. It’s so, so beautiful. And black, white and wood… which you know is the way to my heart! SHOP IT
EIGHT: This embroidered hoop wreath is simple and beautiful and the green is so perfectly festive without making this neutral loving girl shy away. Embroidery has always been on my list ‘to learn’ and this hoop reminds me how much I love it! Bonus- the store also has PDF patterns so when I decide to learn, I know where I’ll be looking! SHOP IT
NINE: These printable advent houses are so sweet- I’d love to fill my console with this black and white villiage and pop activity prompts inside for my kids through the month of December! SHOP THEM
TEN: More black and white and it’s SO good. I probably should have named this collection ‘black and white holiday decor’ but I have that green wreath in there ;P This personalized tree wall hanging has rivets and your family name and honestly everything about it I love! SHOP IT
ELEVEN: The watercolour texture in the sky of this starry night card just gets me! I would of course love to gift it, but even more, would frame it for the season! SHOP IT
TWELVE: This north pole pennant would fit in my boys’ bedroom perfectly. But I’d have a hard time letting it hide in there- it’s so pretty! I love the retro look pennants made out of felt like this and the colours on this one are so perfectly muted and beautiful while still being festive. SHOP THEM
THIRTEEN: Last but certainly not least… such a pretty first christmas gold acrylic ornament! The script name and sans serif details are perfectly paired and perfectly modern. Personalized ornaments like this make such a good gift! SHOP THEM
Alright… I’m going to leave you with those picks! I’m sure as you click through, you’ll find yourself looking at other pieces that could make this list too… because these makers are crazy talented! I can’t wait to get my hand on one of these handmade holiday decor pieces… I’ll share it in my christmas house tour next month!
