Grab this free printable handlettering practice page to learn how to write the phrase “Hygge” in 6 casual brush lettering styles!
Winter is the time to cozy up and enjoy your home *that* much more. I’m not a huge winter sports gal so my idea of a perfect winter day involves coffee, a candle and the christmas tree lit (as long as we keep it up!). You know what goes really well with that? Hand lettering.
Hygge is such a beautiful concept- have you heard about it? It’s like cozy but it’s an atmosphere or a feeling or a practice. Cozying up, welcoming and presence. I wrote a decor post that talked about hygge a few years ago and own a book on it, it’s something I really try to embrace in the winter. But today is more about lettering than hygge really!
Handlettering practice pages are the perfect way to start the practice of hand lettering. I love to use them as a warm up before I get into lettering a quote or just to relax. If you’re new to printable brush lettering practice sheets, I have a full post sharing 3 ways you can use them to improve your lettering right here. I have a bunch available- you can check them all out right here.
I love these because they give me an opportunity to play around with different styles that I might not naturally try. They’re great for finding your own style as you’re lettering through, and picking out letter shapes that you love to recreate. They’re also a great warm-up before you get lettering. Why not give it a try? ;)
This one has lots of loops (the letters Y and G), so it’s a lot of fun to play and experiment with!
For these practice pages I like to use either my Tombow Fude or my Faber-Castell Pitt Brush pens… but really any brush pen will work! I’ve even used watercolour with a round paint brush in the past!
I hope you enjoy this free ‘hygge’ handlettering printable practice page! And if you want to share your practicing, you know I’d love to see it! You can tag me on Instagram @colleenpastoor!

How does one download the “free” practice sheets and the quick start guide? The hotlinks just go in circles and altho advised to enter an email, there isn’t a place to enter. Hours lost looking.
