Get ready for summer with this free salty SVG file for your beach-ready projects! Plus, sharing a whole collection of free Beach SVG files for your summer crafting.
Summer feels like it’s already here and it’s time to get the beach gear ready! Today I’m teaming up with some of my favourite SVG designing bloggers to share free beach SVG files with you. You know I had to do something hand lettered and fun for this one and a ‘salty’ SVG was just what I’ve been needing in my life.
These free SVG cut files for Cricut or Silhouette will help you customize your beach gear or… make the perfect gift for that salty friend of yours. You know the one ;) You could take this whatever way you like, but I am taking it and running with it…

I’ve hand lettered the salty design and added some water splashes as well as a sea shell. The sea shell is actually part of my Pirates and Mermaids SVG bundle I’d designed for my twins pirates and mermaids birthday party, but it was just so perfect paired with this lettering that I had to include it in here!

I added a background layer if you’d like to create a layered design on a patterned surface or to add a little bit of color to your beach project. I’m simple and love to keep things black and white so on my water bottle I chose not to add the background layer. It’s easy to toggle on and off.
On the beach bag, I used the background to brighten the bag up a bit. How cute would these be as party favours for a beach party? Just order a pack of blank totes from Amazon and get crafting!

HOW DO I UPLOAD A FREE Cut File TO CRICUT DESIGN SPACE?
Once you’ve downloaded your free hand lettered SVG files, it’s time to upload them to your cutting machine software. I use my Cricut to cut out my SVG files, but you could also use your Silhouette or other brand of cutting machine. To upload an SVG file to Cricut Design Space is super straight forward.
Open up Cricut Design Space and start a new project. In the left hand panel, select ‘upload’ and search for your salty SVG file. You can add a name to your file at this point then upload it and insert it into your project. That’s it.
The SVG file has all the layers separated for you and Cricut reads all that information for you. In this case, the background layer and the lettering are on separate layers.
If you’re new to uploading your own images to Cricut and would like more information on the different types of files you can cut with your Cricut, this video walks you through all the different types and how to upload them to Cricut Design Space to use them in your projects.
* Are you new to Cricut? Or deciding which machine to buy? I wrote a whole post about the differences between the Cricut machines RIGHT HERE. And if you’re looking for more Cricut projects and tutorials, you can find them all here!
