Grab this free printable hand lettering practice page to learn how to write the phrase “Consistency” in 6 casual brush lettering styles!
“Consistency is what transforms average into excellence. Consistency is more important than perfection.” I love this quote from Tony Robbins because it is so applicable to learning a new skill like brush lettering.
Often, people ask me how long I’ve been brush lettering for and whether I always just had the gift of good penmanship… NO! Absolutely not. Hand lettering took me months of practice before I created something that I felt proud of and comfortable to share with others. After consistently working on it, I not only have a skill that I can market, but it’s a creative outlet that I find sooo relaxing!
For some people it’s coloring or journalling, for me it’s brush lettering! When I pick up a brush pen and glide down the page, I get lost in the practice. It’s my happy place.
If you’re new to printable brush lettering practice sheets, I have a full post sharing 3 ways you can use them to improve your lettering right here. I have a bunch available- you can check them all out right here.
I love these because they give me an opportunity to play around with different styles that I might not naturally try. They’re great for finding your own style as you’re lettering through, and picking out letter shapes that you love to recreate. They’re also a great warm-up before you get lettering. Why not give it a try? ;)
This one has a “t” in the centre. It’s fun to play and experiment with!
For these practice pages I like to use either my Tombow Fude or my Faber-Castell Pitt Brush pens… but really any brush pen will work! I’ve even used watercolour with a round paint brush in the past!
