Today I’m sharing this rad little tote bag but also… it’s time for another Fresh Cut SVG Bundle! This time, the theme is Palm Springs (heck yes!). I contributed three line art leaves (this banana leaf, a palm leaf, and a monstera leaf). I’m totally in love with how this tote turned out- I’ve been loving the look of line art for a while and this banana leaf was pretty much made for it, I think. I’ll share the DIY instructions below, but first off…
This is the very first bundle that is available over on the NEW Fresh Cut SVG Bundles website! So we finally have our own new webpage for this collaboration and I’m pretty excited about it. It’s just a landing page for now, but it’s slowly going to be built into a full website of it’s own. I don’t want to share too many details, but it’s going to be SO good, you guys! If you’re into SVGs, you should probably hop over there and get on the email list to keep in the loop!
Okay, let’s get down to the DIY! But first… I should fess up. I totally didn’t make this bag. See how beautiful these photos look? That’s all my friend, Alexis from Persia Lou. She’s kind of the best. I designed these line art files for the bundle, dreamed up these totes with the monogram. Designed them aaaaand then ran out of time before we moved. My Cricut got packed up and I was calling around asking who’s house I could crash to do my DIY project before the launch of this bundle. Then out of nowhere, she offered to get her craft on for me. So I would love if you hopped over there and showed her some love for me. :)
Alright- this one’s pretty darn simple! I just took the line art banana leaf (there are three leaf options in the bundle that I made) and took a giant type letter and stuck them together This is really easy to do in Photoshop, PicMonkey, and even in Cricut Design Space. If you want to make two pieces one cut in Design Space, you would select both and click the ‘weld’ button.
Then cut it out (if you’re going to iron it on, make sure to hit that ‘mirror’ button!) and get to weeding! Then you can iron it on and you’re good to go. I love how quickly iron on vinyl (Heat transfer vinyl) can transform a simple tote bag into something super custom that I totally love and want to carry around.
Alright, that’s it for that simple DIY. If you want to grab these line art designs and ALL the other rad Palm Springs themed designs in the bundle… hop over and grab it now!
