Canada Day is already next week you guys! In preparation, today I’m sharing these fun templates to make Canada Day ice cream cone wraps and cupcake (or in my case muffin!) wraps. I was browsing Like The Cheese the other day and spotted the ice cream wraps she made for the Fourth of July and loved how fun (and easy!) it is to dress up some simple treats. If you’re from the US, you should pop over there and check out her post!
You may have spotted my post on Today’s Creative Life earlier this week, where I made this fun ‘Heck Yes!’ vase. This was my first ever project with my new toy- the Cricut Explore Air (hurray!!), and today… this is my second! If you don’t have a cutting machine, that’s a-okay too. You can download the template and cut with a craft knife on a cutting mat (that’s what I would have done a month ago!).
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own Canada Day ice cream and cupcake wraps:
- Red Scrapbook Paper (each print four to a sheet)
- Cricut Explore Air, Other cutting machine OR craft knife and cutting mat
- Double sided tape
- Treats (and most definitely sprinkles)
Download the free templates (cupcake and ice cream). These are PNG files and you will either print these four to a page (using Word or a publisher of sorts for craft knife cutting) or by adding four to a new design in your Cricut Design Space. You’ll need to adjust the size based on how big your cupcakes and ice cream cones are. I had mine measure about 7″ across for the cupcakes and just under 5″ across for the ice cream cones. If you’re working in an editor, make sure to switch your option to CUT instead of PRINT (shown in screenshot). Then cut away!
Now you can use double sided tape to fasten the ends together to make your wraps and you’re ready for your treats! Easy, right? And you can keep some of the leaves that get cut out as confetti (because everyone loves confetti!).
So tell me… do you have any Canada Day plans? I’d love to hear what your traditions are! We’re still building ours as a family so I’m not too sure what we’ve got going on quite yet. But it will definitely involve treats.
