A Cozy Christmas Party

Last week we hosted a Cozy Christmas Party for Shane and my church small groups. I had so much fun working with a couple of the girls to dream up this party. We wanted to make it casual and easy to pop by after work (we chose a Thursday since everyone is so busy on the weekends leading up to Christmas), with great food and to be super cozy. I’m thrilled with how it came together.

I printed off these free invites from A Pair of Pears. I was also looking at these ones from them as well but didn’t have time to track down kraft paper.

We did take the time to track down some pinecones though! After hiking up some trails with my super-crafty friend Kristin and only finding little ugly ones, we were driving home and saw an amazing tree in one of the parking lots on the way home. Figures! The -15 weather tired us out, but we made it home with more than enough to put together this gold tipped pinecone garland. We used the how-to from The Sweetest Occasion’s gold leaf pinecone garland, but painted them instead of using fancy gold leaf.

 

The kitchen island was filled with all the appies, so we could use the dining table and buffet for the fun stuff: a s’mores station and hot cocoa bar! Aren’t these cupcakes amazing? If there were a prize for the best looking party food, Shara would have won.

 

We ate, drank, and even snuck in a couple games (my favourite part of any evening).  It was also the eve of a couple birthdays, so we celebrated with s’mores.
