Valentines day is coming up- and you know what that means! Lot’s of pink, red, hearts, and cards are all around. I’ve rounded up 16 rad ideas for valentines day from Lemon Thistle- everything from hand lettered printables to DIY and crafty decorations! I don’t share a lot of round ups on Lemon Thistle BUT I do make them for my lovely e-mail subscribers (you can sign up HERE if you’re not already on the list!). This week I made this valentines one for my email subscribers and thought I’d share it with you all here to give you a taste of the email goodness ;)
16 Rad Valentine’s Day Ideas
Left to right / top to bottom:
ONE: These Modern DIY XO T-Shirts were SO fun to make and if I do say so myself, my kiddos looked darned adorable in them. This year I’m planning to make one for myself too! Grab the free designs and get crafty!
TWO: I designed this ‘For I can’t help falling in love with you’ Hand lettered printable for my friend Laurel (you can read her story in the post) last year. It wasn’t made for Valentines specifically, but an anniversary, but it’s so perfectly suited for the holiday, don’t you think?
THREE: Sweet! How about gifting cookie dough all scooped and ready to bake? Plus I designed some free printable hand lettered labels to gussy them up for gifting.
FOUR: XO… are there any two letters more perfectly valentines-y? I made this felt XO garland before I ever dreamed of having a Cricut. So if you have a craft knife and $2 of dollar store felt, you can make this DIY felt XO garland, my friend.
FIVE: This ombre floral arrangement is the first post I ever remember being really proud of. It’s from my first year blogging and I still like it enough to show it to you right now. That’s saying something ;)
SIX: That XO garland keeps popping up! This time as a table runner. This post is actually a tutorial to make your own heart place cards for the holiday using a Cricut.
SEVEN: Muah! Grab a free download of the lettering and make your own v-day wallhanging with a dropcloth. I love that it’s not a super kiddish valentine’s decorations- sometimes I feel like that’s all that there is for these less popular holidays (not Christmas).
EIGHT: My friend Tan from Squirrelly Minds shared this gorgeous pink and gold Love Printable when I was on maternity leave last year. It’s the perfect way to add some pink to your gallery wall in a snap!
NINE: Hey Valentine, You’re a-maze-ing! I lettered these printable valentines back when I first started hand lettering and I’m surprised and pleased to tell you that I still love them! And my kids loooove those mazes (not that they get the concept), so they may be what they’re bringing to school this year.
TEN: These little envelope valentines have tiny hearts that feature finger painting from little hands- perfect for grandparents! We started our kids out finger painting early on- they totally love it and they really do make the sweetest gifts.
ELEVEN: I’m kind of obsessed with these free printable boombox valentines my friend Brie made for Lemon Thistle years ago. Fill them with treats and you’ll have the best valentines on the block, guaranteed.
TWELVE: These printable table topics are perfect for date night or valentines– there’s some fun questions you might not have chatted about yet!
THIRTEEN: This post is just as old as the carnations (see, they’re in there!). I give tips to host your own valentine making party with friends– but if I were to do it again… I’d choose a glitter-less valentine ;)
FOURTEEN: More handlettered valentines? You betcha- these ones are post cards and there’s two versions for you! I actually made them and then with a newborn baby, forgot to send them out to anyone last year. Oops.
FIFTEEN: More Xs and Os! My friend Ruthie gives a tutorial to a get faux metal look on craft store letters.
SIXTEEN: Last but not least- this kisses artwork is SO simple to make. I shared on Instagram the other day that I felt totally ridiculous making it, but now every time I walk by that baby it makes me smile. So that’s more than worth it, right?
Have fun crafting and valentine-ing, my friends! If you use any of these DIYs, printables, or ideas I would LOVE to see a photo!
