How is it almost December and I haven’t done a gift guide yet this year!? Honestly, this year is kicking my butt. Renovating with four young kids is no joke and I’m just trying to get baseboard on my living room so we can put a Christmas tree up. BUT I love gift shopping. It always brings me such joy to spend time thinking of those I love and picking gifts that will reflect them. And shopping for kids? Well… that’s the most fun of all ;)
There’s something so special about having your name on things- especially when you’re a kid. Today I’ve rounded up 15 rad ideas for personalized gifts for kids. Some of these are DIY, some of these are photo and some of them are monogrammed… but all of them would have made me ridiculously happy when I was 6… or 9 or honestly, I’d like some of these now. I’m putting a few of these under the tree this year for my kiddos and I know that they would love any of them. Ready for the guide?
LEFT TO RIGHT, TOP TO BOTTOM:
ONE: I couldn’t help but include this cute bear. It’s perfect for a nursery but also for older kids. Their whole shop of digital prints is actually the perfect modern decor for kids rooms and play rooms. I’m thinking of getting one or two for our kids play rooms. Which says a lot because I usually make all of our art but the prices here are so reasonable and the art is awesome.
TWO: Magic sequins! YOU GUYS! I didn’t know you could make custom sequin stuff… I wish I would have ordered this when I put my order in there! My daughter has been asking for one of these pillows (and so has my son- I could have put a space ship on it!).
THREE: OK these superhero capes are just SO cute! I know my kids would be running around fighting crime if we got them these. And I feel like anytime you can put your kids name on it when you have more than one kid… that’s just helping you solve the argument of who’s is who’s later and what mom couldn’t use a little help solving arguments ;)
FOUR: This dance bag I made for Aubrey is so pretty and holding up really well. Grab the dance shoes file and make your own for the little dancer in your life! Three cheers for pretty DIYs. Find everything you need HERE.
FIVE: The People Puzzle… This is one I’m thinking of getting for my daughter (I probably need to decide soon!). You put names on one side of the puzzle and photos on the other. Perfect for learning how to spell some of those names of people you love!
SIX: Perfect for the animal lovers, this personalized vet kit is super cute! Plus, we love Melissa and Doug toys in this house- the quality is so great. I can imagine my kids opening up a vet shop and having their siblings take turns bringing their pets in for a check up.
SEVEN: Art that you’ll love and so will the kids! This personalized monogram print is perfect for a little girls’ room (they have boys ones too!). If I were making a personalized gift guide for adults too I would have chosen this little store’s coffee bar sign… because it’s rad and I want it ;)
EIGHT: A book of names and faces! I got this for my kiddos a couple years ago (and wrote all about it right here). We LOVE it and still have it although it’s a lot worse for wear. But since we got it… we had two more kids and a few more cousins that we’d love to have in the book. I’m actually working on getting a few more pictures to finish my order of their ABC book that I’m turning into their book of names and faces… because we have that many cousins and family we want in there. The board books are SO good for kids though, I was super impressed with how it held up to our toddlers.
NINE: Anyone else’s little ones obsessed with power tools and being just like daddy? This hat would be such a hit in our home! Even our baby (just turned 1 year old) loves power tools… which is probably because he sees us using them all the time! They gear up in their ‘worker man’ outfits at least a couple times a week. I love that these hats have name tags so there wouldn’t be that argument. You guys… I just turned around and my oldest is in gumboots and his hard hat! This is actually something I know would get so much use.
TEN: So maybe we like mermaids a little bit (a lot) in this house right now. This sleeping bag is SO BEAUTIFUL that I want it in my size please and thank you. I love that you can add names to it for families where you love matching stuff but fight over who’s is who’s… not that my kids ever fight ;) There’s a space themed boys one I love right here too.
ELEVEN: This pretty little mermaid doll is going to be under the tree for Aubrey this year. I was hoping to have it to photograph for you already, but when it shows up, I’ll be sure to show it in my Instagram Stories! you can personalize the tail with any name. We couldn’t decide whether to put her name on it or the name she always pretends to be when they play make believe. And now I can’t remember what we chose… so it’ll be a surprise for me too ;)
TWELVE: Photo memory! We are such big fans of memory in this house. It’s such a great way to get little brains thinking hard but is also so much fun (for adults too). And having their faces on the memory pieces? I mean… how can that NOT be super fun?!
THIRTEEN: Constellation Names. This print is SO FREAKING CUTE. My kids would totally love to have their name written in the stars. And since it’s a digital print (meaning you print it yourself after the artist makes it), even if you’re in Canada like me and the postal strike is still going on- you’ll have it ready for the big day.
FOURTEEN: This DIY puppet theatre sign was the perfect addition to a store bought puppet theatre for my kids. Just because you’re buying a gift that doesn’t offer personalization doesn’t mean you can’t add it yourself! Find all the details on this quick and easy DIY sign. This is the newer version of the puppet theatre. And can I just say that this mama would prefer that neutral version to the colourful one we have?!
FIFTEEN: This DIY Wooden Photo Memory will definitely take you more time than ordering the memory above BUT it’s wood and so pretty. And making it is an extra touch of personal. I would even make this for my husband (we love to play memory… even though it’s a kids game- ha!). Get the whole DIY tutorial HERE.
Alright… this got long. I clearly am in love with each of these picks because I couldn’t stop talking about them! If you end up getting any of these I would so love to hear from ya and how your kids liked them! I can’t wait to give my kids some of these gifts this year!
