I mentioned in my last Saint Pat’s post that I really don’t do much to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day… I mean, I try wear green (like paint my nails or put a pinch proof necklace on!) but that’s about it! Yet… I have SO many Saint Patrick’s Day inspired blog posts! Ha- what is it about the holiday that is just so blog friendly? I thought I would round all those ideas for saint patrick’s day all up in one place for you here and as a bonus I have a few of my faves from other bloggers down at the bottom.
Left to Right, Top to Bottom:
ONE: See those nice dark green nails? Those aren’t mine, but that’s about as ‘dressed up’ as I usually get (although this year I have shirt!). This is one of the many DIYs from my blogger St Pat’s party a couple years back and it’s a DIY to make those metal stamped place markers! Spoiler… It’s made from a soda can!
TWO: There’s that tee I’ve been chatting about! This year I made a pinch proof tee for everyone in our family (including meeee!) and I’m sharing the free handlettered downloadable design for you to make your own!
THREE: This is just another shot from our party! I actually just finished up a YouTube video sharing more details on how to make that giant party garland. You can find the YouTube video right here or the written post right here.
FOUR: Stay gold! This was back when I first started hand lettering but I’m still beyond in love with the idea. I share the free printables but also how to get the easiest ever gold foil look (no sticky stuff required)! And is there any classier part of saint patrick’s day than gold? Nope? Didn’t think so.
FIVE: Flooowers! I made this simple floral arrangement a few years ago and shared step by step photos on how to make one for yourself. It’s got gold, green, glitter, and of course- blooms. I used to do SO MANY florals posts but haven’t in a long time. Maybe I’m overdue ;)
SIX: Recognize this place setting? Yep, it’s the one with the marker from numero uno but I wanted to link to both those DIY moss place mats my friend Ashton from Bespoke decor made and those GORGEOUS hand lettered napkins (free download) my pal Hannah from Pommel Co. made. FYI she’s such a hand lettering inspiration.
SEVEN: Speaking of Hannah and Pommel Co. She made these sweet bag toppers for our Saint Pat’s party as well! Hop over and grab the free download.
EIGHT: Pinch Proof! This wooden bead necklace has been my Saint Patrick’s day wardrobe staple for the past few years. I love the simplicity and of course, that it keeps my wardrobe of neutrals safe from pinches ;)
NINE: Lucky me! The inside of this hand lettered printable card reads ‘to have you’. Just a little something special for you to give out on the holiday!
TEN: You know I’m a sucker for a grocery cake makeover! I made this ombre candy covered cake with a gilded shamrock for our blogger party. I share the whole how-to for this baby right here. And #honestymoment I totally made one of these with blue candies for a wedding once (grocery cake inside and all)… #inotherwordsdon’taskmetobakeforyourwedding
ELEVEN: More moss? Heck yes! This moss chalkboard is still going strong and beautiful as ever. I love the idea of matting a chalkboard with moss for a spring-y touch to your home decor. Also… that colour of green moss is pretty much a neutral so you can use it eeeeeverywhere ;)
Alright! That’s all I’ve got on Lemon Thistle for you BUT there are some more rad ideas for Saint Patrick’s ideas out there! Here’s a few that have been long time (or new!) faves:
A sweet treat- these St. Patrick’s Day cereal bars from one of my fave blogs (Sugar & Cloth) look totally delicious and I just picked up a box of lucky charms for the kids and I to make them as a holiday snack. But really, I’m a sucker for Lucky Charms and will take any excuse to buy a box.
To decorate- I’m SO in love with this gold clover garland from Flax & Twine. I just need to sit down and make it so I can stop swooning over the photos.
To gift- these printable horseshoe bags and labels from Oh Happy Day are SO. DARN. ADORABLE. I’ve had my eye on them forever. But really, I’ve never given out treats on Saint Patrick’s Day. Maybe now that my kids are in preschool this is the year to start?
Top it off- last but not least these cute shamrock toppers from Studio DIY are perfect for a cake (in a patch!) but I’d stick them on anything to dress them up for the day (pancakes, cupcakes, you name it!).
